overdrive relay modern replacement?
On my 58 County Sedan, I need to replace a missing overdrive relay. Is there a modern replacement or something else that will work? The few I have found on line as OEM replacements must be made of unobtanium based on how they're priced...
thanks Bill |

Re: overdrive relay modern replacement?
A start-run relay for a late 60s/early 70s Chrysler works just fine and at a substantial discount below the repop OD relays.

Re: overdrive relay modern replacement?
I used one from Radio Shack. It doesn't look anything like the original, but it works just fine and only cost about $6.

Re: overdrive relay modern replacement?
Any standard Bosch style ISO relay rated at 30 amps or higher will live a long life. $1-2 online (depending where you look), $6-$10 at your local parts place or dang near free by the handful at the junkyard - just grab a bunch from an underhood fuse block and pay the man a few bucks.
