Don't get too excited - the sale is for "in stock items only" ! The majority of the time, I tried to buy anything from Bob Drake, it was always out of stock.

Several months ago, during a promo sale Drake had, I ordered a carburetor even though it was not "in stock". I didn't hear anything for a little while but then I received a phone call from Drakes telling me that the carb was now in stock and if I was still interested I could have it for the sale price and the free shipping just as the email ad promoted. I bought the carb and am very pleased with Bob Drake & Co.....

Back Order Bob. Last time they had a sale 75% of what I needed was out of stock with no rain checks.

I had the same problem on one of their "sales" and it was a 75% no stock on hand rate.

Never ordered direct from Bob so I have a question. '32 catalog sheets clearly show "Not in stock" on some items. Is it safe to order the in stock stuff or do they play the not in stock game when order is placed?

Sounds like a good outcome.

Last year during the same sale I ordered a gas tank and a bunch of other stuff including a banjo steering wheel. Everything was in stock but the steering wheel. Went to order the wheel again this year and go figure its out of stock. I guess I just need to stick with the one I've got.

I don't wanna win the lottery because I'd have to pay the taxes.... So what's wrong with the 25% that's in stock with 20% off and free shipping???

On my last order on Bob's 20% off and free shipping I couldn't get my order placed before the deadline because of a internet problem. I called on Monday morning and they honored the sale and had everything in stock except one item. I thought that was pretty good!

Funny as heck. Tried to order a gas tank. 1) it is of course out of stock 2) price in the 2014 catalog is $150. Current price? $215.
So, even if it was in stock, that so called "sale" is total BS.
Yep, jack the price up and then discount it a bit.

I must have been lucky; the stuff I wanted was listed as in stock. After reading the above post, I wondered about pricing; so I dug around and found an old 2012 Drake catalog and the prices were still the same.

Was lucky again and the parts were still in stock this AM when I went to order them; but my luck didn't hold, the BO guy struck again when I decided to add several trim clip kits, etc to the order---not a one in stock.

Anyway, overall I was happy to save some money on the parts and shipping.
