Default Spacers for carbs

Was reading a post about adding carb spacers for cams that are a little wild. With my crower 3/4 race cam would it help the bottom end performance to add them? Who sells them too?

I'm not familiar with the spacers. On the race car I sponsored,we were only allowed a 1" spacer.I asked a local prominant race car engine builder what difference the spacer made.He said"none".Remember the Chrysler 300 letter cars that had tunnel-ram carbs that were at least a foot from the engine?

I saw a cool Flathead at a show this summer with I believe an Edie meyer intake, anyway the carbs sat much higher, looked cool, figured the extra long air intake did something for performance? If thats the case if I had 2" spacers it might boost performance....

Tom,

J Lawsons flathead book has a section on them with the dyno results. Pretty interesting test results...

Got mine from 68rrman off evil pay. Great product at a reasonable price, and he will machine any thickness or profile you like.
