MARC National in Niagara Falls Canada, Important Reminders for all attending to do now.

Please remember to:

*Call your cell phone company and register for an international plan while away, this will avoid any roaming charges for texting, phone and Internet. Your bill without it can reach in the $100's. AT&T members plan is $30.00 for the month, and Verizon has the same packages. Please check with your provider and schedule to take effect the day before your departure.

*Make COLOR copies of your passport and of the back page & the bar code, and keep in your personal items and in your possession at all times.

*Call your insurance company and let them know your are driving to Canada, State Farm & others will issue via email an insurance card to carry for your time away.

*Charge your walkie talkie for those driving your Model A

*Canada uses the same electrical outlets as the USA

*Confirm your reservation with the hotel

*Call your charge card company to inform them you will be in Canada making purchases

Remember to have with you

Travel Documents
Hotel Reservations
MARC National Registration

If Driving your Model A
Drivers License
Auto Registration
Insurance Cards
Spare Parts
Water

Good reminders... Looking forward to it. Working feverishly to get the S/W town sedan whipped into shape. Haven't done much to it since I bought it some time back so I have to take a break of working on everyone's to do my own! We have a contingency from the St. Louis area coming.

I became rather obsessed with collecting Ontario Motor League and CAA badges. I believe there were about 40 different Ontario cities that issued these. I currently have about 22 of them.

Criminal Record. Canada is very strict about not allowing foreign criminals into the country. If you had any criminal charge, narcotic charge and some driving charges like drunk, impaired or dangerous driving you should call ahead to find out if you will have a problem. This is even when you were much younger many years ago.

I don't think anyone forgets that, it is with any where you travel all the time....good point to add though

It's all good advice.

I don't understand why would I need to inform my insurance company that I'm driving into Canada? My policy covers me in Canada. Why would I need some kind of special card?

Because companies like State Farm and Allstate issue you another card to carry with your present card that shows fully your insured in Canada...Therefore there is no question if you are stopped. Its just more due diligence on your part for traveling!

The days when one could just breeze across the border (in either direction) are pretty much over. Some days now it can turn into an ordeal, especially if the traffic is heavy.

Odd, worst "ordeal" for us has been about 20 minutes.

Checking online wait times right now, there is no delay at the Niagara Falls bridge, or the Lewiston/Queenston bridge in either direction.

Morning or evening is best. Enjoy your visit!

The insurance card is called a "Yellow Card". When traveling from the lower US to Alaska I get boned everywhere I stop by those Canadians. I don't think they like us. I can't imagine what we may have done to them.
