Other than the original seat for the pickup, any suggestions as to what seat might fit in the 1940-41 pickup with the original pan riser? Wise-guys are too rich for my budget. Thanks!

I've heard early '90s Suburban rear bench is a good fit.

The '40 big truck I used to have had a middle seat from a Chrysler mini van. Fit like it came from the factory. IMO. I think I still have some photos. If I can find them I'll post them.

I used a vinyl 3rd row seat from my suburban. The front hooks that fork into rods in the sub's floor slots grabbed right onto front lip of the seat base. Perfect width and looks like a truck seat. Made a couple of tabs to hold down the rear.

I used the third seat from a Ford Windstar van. Got one with very nice cloth upholstery for $50 from my local Pick-N-Pull. The early seats do not have headrests and you might find one with leather upholstery.

The base has a tapper to the front, sure all the late mini van third row type are parallel sided, to me looks odd, and steals some but area. Martin. |
