Default Tail Pipe extension????

Who here, if anyone, has extended their A's tailpipe out past the bumper, eliminating the fumes coming up through the body while at a stop or an idle?

well Mr. Ed we dont hear to many complaints about fume problems on these cars. a few things that can contribute to exhaust odors are running to rich, excessive blowby out the crankcase or an exhaust leak... if i recall correctly when you first posted your car here on the forum i mentioned you had signs of an exhaust leak at the manifold to pipe connection...

I don't remember that being mentioned. It is quite tight, no play, the whole exhaust is new from the manifold connection onward. I'm not saying all those have rode in my rumble seat have been asphyxiated just that I've noticed most tailpipes do extend out to the bumper. Now that I know there is no chance of fumes coming from a tailpipe under the rumble I won't worry too much about it.

I remember now, that was tightened and I've really not run it enough to see any further leakage. A lot of fumes coming in the cab has pretty much been fixed with replacing missing grommets and plugging holes in the fire wall. The tail pipe is another story being right under the rumble seat, I would think this could be considered a rear seat.

I got my extention from Aries Muffler. It replaces the pipe from the muffler back.
