New guy intro
Good evening everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a newbie here, been on the HAMB for a while. I recently picked up a stock 48 2dr Sedan and I'm not very familiar with it yet, and it needs a few things before it's roadworthy. My goal is to make a reliable daily driver out of it. I also own a 50 Fordor that's in the process of being a full custom. The flatheads, carriage style springs, and banjo rears are pretty much uncharted territory for me, so I hope to gain some knowledge here.

Hey that does look like a good one!
I love that giant side window. Search on sludge/de-sludge, coils, carbs, wheel cylinders and grounding. That should get you going just fine. Welcome & good luck!

Welcome to the Barn. Those post war Fords are fun. Good drivers, easy to work on, and plenty of parts available. Good to see some younger guys joining us old geezers. John

Re: New guy intro
Take you time, be patient, stay on course, don't get discouraged and you will have a real good time driving an old Ford. I have driven my '50 in all the lower 48 states and Quebec. My wife and I really enjoy Fords. I think you will, too!

Re: New guy intro
Back in 1955 I bought a 48 2dr, back then it was only 7yr's old, belong an old lady that traded it in at a dealership. The back seat had never been set in. After about 6 month I had the get seat covers to cover the spots. OOOO, to be young again. Walt

Re: New guy intro
Thanks for the welcome's, just thought I'd share what I know about the car. It's originally from New Jersey, it still has a 1963 registration sticker in the front window. From there it spent some time in Lancaster, NY just outside of Buffalo. Apparently the fellow who owned it, worked for the City of Lancaster and began restoring the car, eventually he got sick and couldn't finish the car, so his coworkers finished it for him. From there it was sold to the fellows uncle whom I got it from, where it has sat since 2004.

Re: New guy intro
Hello and welcome to the forum, those later "early" fords are very nice cars, if the '46 I once had was anything to judge by.
