While I do not know for certain, it appears that a "period look" is the main thing. If your car has no billet, pastel paint, tweed interiors, etc. it would easily be accepted so the cool factor seems like the main criteria.. The Climb is not a competitive event, more of a moving car show up the hill, and naturally there are other cars not participating, but only parking around town to add to the show. This is for sure on my list of things to do.

Well that settles it I am taking my 32 five window to the New Port Hill Climb first weekend in Oct.It sports a mildly modified 8BA with lots of patina and I think they will let me run it up the hill !

There is a reliability run on Friday morning that includes most street rods, stock cars, hot rods, etc up to '64.
The actual Hillclimb takes place on Saturday and is limited to pre-'54 vintage builds - bangers/flatheads/early Olds & Caddy/etc. Most of the reliablilty run cars are still in town, but not running up the pass as part of the official hillclimb. Details can be found on the website: www.hotrodhillclimb.com A great event. Mike has done an amazing job pulling this together. |
