I don't care what you paid for it.
I want to know what they cost you (so the wife unit didn't make you sleep in the garage).... For example, mine cost me a new countertop Hot tea delivered to my wife in bed every morning and another Elkhound

Green50 is probably close to the middle of the pack with me. Don't want the dollar figures, just the quid pro quo extracted from you

Horses... lots and lots of horses. Eleven at last count and I think maybe one more on the way. I don't ask her what they cost - she doesn't ask me what my cars cost. Kind of a "mutual understanding".
It doesn't matter though...she's worth the world.

New Years Day 1983 I made a resolution to learn to fly an airplane, a lifelong dream. Later that year I bought my first airplane, a 1961 Cessna 150, a two seater for $4800. My 17 year old son was thrilled, my wife was furious. I had just bought a new 1983 Ford Ranger Pickup. To keep the peace I traded my new pickup for her a new 1983 Thunderbird Turbo. There was once again peace at the Reynolds Homestead.
However there has been only one issue with my old car sickness. I sold a beautifully restored 1934 Plymouth PE Coupe to buy my `35 Ford Cabriolet, not running, parts missing and ugly paint. When my son and I dragged it home my wife was once again furious. But now she likes the old Ford, we can get out and run highway speeds and is far more enjoyable than the Plymouth.... ![]() I sold this to buy.. ![]() this....

A new 2007 Infiniti G35X. That was when I bought the pickup. She fell in love with the 53 Courier on the trip back to NH from the 2012 Florida Barners Bash. We turned that trip into a leisurely road adventure.
On the ferry across Delaware Bay

My wife always write the check when we buy a car. This way she doesn't have a leg to stand on. I never buy a car behind her back. But I think I have reach the end. She says there no more room for another car. She just the other day she bought me a tombstone? I wonder what she got on her mind?
