Default Cars sold to Illinois

Hello anyone having trouble with the state of IL trying to title there pre 1948 car in the state of Illinois from another state. Apparently they think if you don't have the original engine and trans in you old car the current Title is no good so they will make you re register the car as a street rod. OK so now the crap starts appraisal bonds inspection and at the end of the day you end up with some hokey name on your title like DAVIKY or Heritage and what if it is all steel original body. They don't care about that. It feels like they are making the rules as they go.
Any one else having this pain to deal with.
Your guilty until proven innocence GREAT.

There used to be a highway cop in charge of that, who was also a street rodder. He retired. Now there is a woman doing it who is inept on a good day. Putting a uniform on a person gives them authority. Not brains. She has hassled people form one end of the state to the other, and has called me on the phone to tell me I am a fellon for doing EXACTLY as her office told me to do before she worked there. We are not all setting out to break the laws in Illinois. This woman seems to think any old car guy is a crook, yet the state has no simple way to do what needs to be done.
