So is it the right outside rear view mirror that makes this an 'A'?

In the '50's Chief couldn't find an available, cheap, Model A at the time.
He had a Perkins 4 cyl diesel, and a late V-4 Wisconsin, with starter, clutch, etc. Wanted to put one of them in an "A" for a commuter car. Bill W.

If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck it must be a duck. As far as I can tell it must be a duck cause it sure ain't an "A".

I'm with Peters180 on the exhaust. A little more thought in this regard would have been helpful.

Jerry, again you misunderstand my friend. It isn't that I dislike it, ...its that we have all been asked specifically by Ryan to only discuss topics of Restoration here. Nothing on this vehicle meets the protocol of Restoration. My comment above was that I'm not so sure it is a candidate for HAMB as a traditional rod either. Surely you understand that I didn't make the rules here and I realize neither did you however why do folks feel compelled to totally disregard the rules in a place where we are the guest? Should a rule only apply to us after Ryan or Cobb specifically calls us out each time, ...or shouldn't we each be responsible citizens in society to obey the laws whether someone is there watching to enforce them or not? |

I too feel it was not the right forum for this, but I did partake in the thread, I do occasionally like to see a rod, I have visited the Hamb one time and will most likely never again, it ain't for me. Since the guy posting didn't appear to be a douche bag like the others who have posted regarding rods and such, I felt it was neat to see. Given all the drama this site has had in the recent weeks, I thought it was a needed interlude to all the b.s. JMHO

This may not be the correct site for it, true. But I'm glad to have seen it and can appreciate the originality and engineering involved. It’s a neat vehicle.

I think a lot of talent went into this project, looks great. One more A body saved from A salvage yard. In the old days they did all sorts of things with these cars and it just goes to show you its still going on.

Seems like more and more hot rod stuff appearing on this forum, which I thought, (apparently wrongly) was for stock model A fords.
