Model A with a Cummins Diesel I'm new to the forum. A while ago, my brother spotted this in our hometown. I thought I'd share for you Model A aficionados. Purists, hit the back button now. It was a four-door that was turned into a truck and set on a custom frame, complete with a four-cylinder Cummins turbo diesel out front. The owner, Jeff Madden, says it gets 41 mpg. It was so awesome that I couldn't keep it contained to our (low-traffic) blog (http://www.TheBeatnikBrotherhood.com). So here ya go! Hopefully this wasn't too spammy for y'all with the blog plug. I just thought this was too cool not to share. |
Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel I'd park it in my driveway.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel I like the idea of 41 MPG, but I would no longer call it a Model A. What does the title call it?
|
Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel I love it but, I drive a cummins.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel That thing is pretty freakin cool, while I don't condone cutting up a good car, I'll tell myself it was a hunking mess to start with. I think it would look better without the removable top, but thats me.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel I have started work on an extended cab Model A pickup something like that, but the bed willl be custom wood - not metal and I want the Model A fenders.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel When I get over to another buddies house I'll take a picture of his current build, pretty radical small block with a 671 blower on top of a tunnel ram. He had the tunnel ram specially designed to run the blower and two 4's, it will make the engine close to 5 feet tall, about 6 inches over the roof, it'll be a model a body, he's in the process of building the tube frame now, while not my thing, it will be really cool. His last engine build was 2 471's on a double sided tunnel ram, really neat if your into that type of thing.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel Gary, Yep, except is will be a "A' instead of a "AA". flatBed/Stake Bed. Right now it is ideas in my brain and am collecting pieces. Dont worry folks. I aint gonna tear up no perfectly good Model A. Cowl section is in the back yard. Brought home two rusty bottom doors the other day. Friend sold me the back section of a Fordor. Got a Hood somewhere and fenders are in the attic - that is all cept the right rear. But with Decatur TX Swap Meet tomorrow and I might get lucky.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel Not my thing, but very well done, thats for sure.

Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel Gary, how are those AA rims stepped up for the larger size? Just welded tabs?
|
Re: Model A with a Cummins Diesel Just saw this at a Tractor show in Lynden,WA Last year I'd say welded as it was all pieced together but ran great.
