Working on my '35 3W and installed a '37 steering box with matching frame steering mount. My old Fentons would be perfect....but....my only problem is that they do not clear the oil dip stick base / tube....on both the original '35 engine and a 59AB that is ready as a back-up engine. I am surprised that there are not to many comments on the dipstick clearance. The only way to have a proper clearance is to actually re-locate the base of the dipstick on the oil pan. I will eventually use the Fentons ( just because I like them ) but, in the meantime, I have received the entire dual exhaust & headers from Red’s. In communicating with someone on this dipstick issue, I was told it cleared???? One of my 8BA motors, the stick is placed forward and clears the Fentons perfectly. I am at a loss with this.

The Fenton headers will not clear your steering box. The Fenton cast iron headers would not fit my 39 pickup. They will not clear the steering box even after grinding away some material for clearance. I hung the fentons on the wall and bought a set of Red's headers and was very pleased with them.

I got my Fentons to fit perfectly on my 36' p\u with 59A motor, but they did not at first. Right side no problem, left side hit stock steering, started grinding, checked, grind some more, checked, grind more until I went thru, made a hole! So I took it to a welder friend who dented it in just enough and sealed the hole, now they fit perfect and sound great! In the long run it was still worth it.
