I agree, although “Apple Green” is a color used on Model A wheels, the color doesn’t really go with the color of your car.

Hello,Currently the car looks to be Bronson yellow and Seal brown, with Apple green wheels. Black would be correct, later wheels could be orange to match pinstripes. That color is used often on the Cabrolet models.Congrats on your Model A and welcome to the Barn !

Nice looking car. The brown wall tires may turn out white walls with some Bleche-wite cleaner, available at your local auto parts dealer. https://www.blackmagicshine.com/prod...-tire-cleaner/

Thanks for all the kind replies. I think when I get the color of those wheels changed I will ad an avatar. I'm still sorting out the ton of extra parts that came with it.

The tops were originally layered over support straps with two wire supports and panel board sides to give the distinctive shape. There were also sheet metal strips that helped keep the roof curvature. There were several on each side for the main bow forward and one on each side that attached to the rear bow support between the front and rear bow. A lot of folks that installed new tops, say 10 to 60 years ago, didn't know how the tops were installed at the factory so many are missing some of the factors that hold the top in good form. This gives them a rumpled look that looks like a loose convertible top.
The material still looks good on that coupe and it appears to have all the correct parts. The interior originally had a material wrapping the bows and covering all the panel board side pieces plus the package tray. When I purchased my old 29, it had no panel board forms nor bow wrapping. A previous owner had it looking like a business coupe but I could see where the lower landau bar supports had been in the belt rail wood. That stuff had disappeared many moons ago. It had a vinyl plastic back light too. It took me a while to source the original landau bars and back light frame. |
