My relatively fresh engine also will spit a little bit of oil on a long hard run. Even though the quantity is small, it still makes a mess.

bogdonj, thanks for the pictures.

Is this an old SOS pad that you used to stick up in the oil filler cap?

Also, I have another question for those who proposed the flexible vent pipe and cap. Do any of you use this with engine pans? How do you route the flexible pipe? Any rattles?

I visit this forum every day and it never ceases to amaze me how much I learn about the "A". Thanks to everyone for their contiued input and knowledge.
