Cool auction

The mentality to hoard this much stuff and keep it out of circulation from people that could use it, escapes me. It makes absolutely no sense. So what if you have it. If it's just going to sit in the dirt and rust more, what's the point. There are, or probably were, plenty of folks that would love a project car but can't find anything affordable, if at all. The old car is losing more people everyday with this sort of nonsense and the overall crappy economy. Almost all the older guys I've talked to are out of the hobby or close to it and there doesn't appear to be a younger audience for this stuff. I wish them well with the auction but they are 10-12 years too late. IMO

They should postpone the auction until the first freeze so the snakes will be a bit slower moving! And, the weeds will be knocked down by the freeze.

I dont know if someone has allready said this but, you'd have to buy the property and move there. It would take years to load all that and move it..... Mark

I disgree. I bet if this guy hadn't of "hoarded" all this stuff most of it would have been junked 40 years ago. So he actually SAVED it for everyone else. The point is that he enjoyed just having the stuff. My collection (hoard to some of you) gives me just as much, if not more enjoyment than driving my finished cars. I just love walking into my shop and looking at my teasures. No different than a coin, stamp, or other collector who squirrels his stuff away. Do it the way that makes you happy.

I know a few places kind of like this. The old guys started buying the stuff when they were kids and never stopped. The place I'm cleaning up right now. He said it all would have been crushed or buried out in a pasture. He still has the pickup that he got when he was 14. It's a swb with the steel roof. I don't blame them for what they do.

Go to the auction, your place can look just like his with a little luck. I bought my first Model A from nearby there. Lots of red dust.

I would not have a wife if the place looked like that. Good thing the family owns a bunch of land. If I do start to get to many. I have other places to park them.

This is the way I see it too. I used to have bunches of model cars when I was a kid. Then as I got money I started getting real cars. Some I have had for decades but never done anything with, but I can go visit them whenever I want.

We were going to go. And things came up. But I did hear that some of the cars sold pretty good. But the rest of the stuff. People got real good deals on. Because there was so much.

That welding truck sold for like 8500. I was wanting to try and buy one of the model a trucks but bidding started out with more money than I took and I left right after that.
