You usually need to go to company web site and look up data sheet for the paint.
The paint store may has these. They will tell you what goes under and over the paint,plus preparation needed.

An epoxy primer more than likely . As suggested check with the manufacturer or dealer

Check with your paint supplier. They should have application guides and MSD (Material safety Data sheets). Remember it is always best not to mix different brands of paint materials, they are not always compatable with each other.

I have used Nason Acrylic Enamel...the single stage that uses an 8:2:1 mixture of 8paint:2reducer:1hardener. I usually used Nason lacquer primer with it... but have also used epoxy primer. The Nason primers come in various high builds and I have had good luck with them...they sand well and I have used them on everything from wheels, to frames, to sheetmetal. One note of caution...I have had lacquer thinner lift bodywork if it can get under it and I have had both the lacquer primers and the acrylic enamel blister other people's paint and body work. I paid a company to sandblast and prime a frame for me and both the primer and the paint blistered their material and I ended up sandblasting the frame again and doing it myself. I would follow the recommendation to stay within a brand name rather than take a chance with compatibility. Nason is a whole lot less expensive than DuPont and I have had no problems with it holding up well.

I stripped some window garnish moldings to bare metal 39 years ago, just scrubed them with a steelwool pad and lacquer thinner then painted them with Dupont Centari acrylic enamel ( no primer at all) wet sanded and rubbed it out. They still look great today.

I've used lacquer based primers under acrylic enamels for years and it has never been a problem..However,it is good advice to check with the paint manufacturer to get the primers/sealers they recommend.

I do the body work, fillers and primer. With that it can look like an appaloosa. I shoot Nason sealer on all before my top coat to get nice even color for no bleed thru. Scuff sand with some of those maroon pads then shoot same day.
