Default Re: Gearbox over filled ?

Make sure the vent on the tower is open.Once it has been filled with old grease, hardened up,and painted a few times it will be hard to find.I just showed on to s fellow,he swore up and down he had searched and it just wasn't there.I climbed in the truck with a DA,hit the side of the tower with 80 grit, and a big black dot jumped right out of the bare metal. He'd been telling me he had been searching and scratching on that tower looking but I could see he had not gotten too serious about it.There were no scratches in his pretty paint.Make sure you have enough grease in the U-joint housing too, that will help keep the relatively thin gear oil in the car.
