Default Can any one I.D. This part

I bought these tail gate parts at Hershey. As a package. But the one that I did not paint. I have never seen before. Can any identify this part. I'am not sure it is even a tail gate part.

Looks like a thingamajig for whatsit. Not a part for a tailgate.

the bar and bolt not T but could be a seat pivot from a centerdoor sedan

Redmodel t Thats what I was thinking. 4tmike Thats a possibility. I never owned a center door. So I can't be sure.

Looks like that piece was the hitch where the linch pin was placed to tie the trailer to the hitch on the car. Before WWII trailer balls were not common, the blade and fork type hitches were typical.

Royce P I think it is to small for a hitch. If you look at the photo with all the parts. It is small. It could be half of a seat hinge.
