When installing a 5 speed what are you using for a drive shaft,do you have one custom made to fit or do you have one cut down to fit? I'll be running a banjo rear with a open drive in a 40 tudor, thanks for the help.

I'd have a new one built. The salvage yards in this part of the country charge so much for a used one that by the time you do new joints, shorten and clean it you dam near have the price of a new on in it. I use The Driveline Shop in Springfield MO. They have always been more than fair with me.

i had one made in one day from a shop that dose nothing but drivelines for anything that need one.

I had a new one made for about $ 100 at a drive shaft place in Detroit.

Find a drive shaft shop near you and talk with them first. They will tell you how to measure for length and what yokes would work best. It's not a big deal, but overall length measured at ride height is important. If you have the orginal Ford shaft bring it with you.

I went to a junk yard here in ND and got one of the correct length for $20.00. I had to use conversion U joints. Total cost less than $50.00.
