Muffler question
I am helping a new club member get his "A" started after 30 years of standing idle. It started after a few minor problems were resolved. It looks like it needs a new manifold gasket. When we shut it down we saw a few hickory nuts behind the car that were not there previously. Seems as if there may be some mice nests in the muffler. Is there a way to get the muffler cleaned out or will running it do the trick? It did not run very sooth, but I contribute that to the need for a manifold gasket. Any thoughts on what we should do first? Thanks. Don/WI

Re: Muffler question
You can remove the muffler and stand it on end. Also you can pour some diesel down the pipe and light it to burn up any mouse nest that won't blow out by the exhaust.
