Default 38' vs 39' ford truck

are 38' & 39' ford trucks using different wheels? i'm trying to id a truck and only have side exterior view and i realize the grilles are different as are the dashes (i own a 38') just wondering if anyone has any pic's of stock wheel/hubcap combo. thought maybe they changed wheels since they went to hyd. brakes in 39' thanks guys!

thanks! found out what year the truck in question was, 39'. Is the only difference the grille,dash and wheels?

I don't know of any two years Ford with only a few differences. There are even differences within the differences! If you are restoring for correctness, I'd suggest you get the EFV8CA book: "The 1938-39 Ford Book". This book is for cars, not trucks, but the mechanical stuff is identical on pickups, and is covered in the book. The link to the book is below:

Few more things:
•Doors had a steel insert for 39.
•Front window regulator knob in 39 was a wheel on top of dash, 38 had a T type one of dash front.
•Believe ashtray in center of dash is 38 only.

Also, the hood emblem where you turn it to open the hood is different between the two...
