Default Split windshield?

Was there ever a factory split windshield on a model A? I'm looking at pictures of what the owner claims to be factory split. It dont really make sense on a flat windshield.

Split vertically or horizontally? Didn't some of the delivery bodies that were coach built, have upper and lower windshields?

I don't know about Model A's, but I know of a few million Willys Jeeps that had flat split windshields

Added strength in rough conditions is my guess.

I know it's off topic but that's only the second time I saw a pic of a stand drive. A guy in the club I just joined has one. Car i mean of course not just pic. Solid bumper is that normal. No logo on side must be brand new when pic was taken?

It is the vehicle in the pic that Fordgarage posted. Read the print at the bottom of the photo. I'm guessing they stood or leaned on a stool to drive instead of a bench seat..

I had a standrive. Sold it a couple years ago for $1000. It was in need of lots of work and I knew I would never get it done so sold it to someone who would finish it. It was a milk truck. To the guy who was wondering what a standrive is... it is exactly that. The floor pedals were repositioned so you stepped them down while standing. The one I had, had a swing away seat so you could sit if you wanted to. They are worth a lot of money, very rare. Mine was similar to the pic posted by fordgarage but had curved glass on the sides of the front door pillars. You notice how low the floor is where the driver steps in.

GAZ is a Russian "Model A" built well into the 50's.
A stand drive is a truck where you stand up to drive. does not really have a seat like you would think, more like a place to rest your butt.

I've not seen it in person only in pictures on the club site, Here is a link http://www.modelaaford.com/1931__FORD_STANDRIVE.php If you look at the picture above you can see the frame were it is cut out and a section thats lower is put in so you are at the right drive height I guess. There is some good pictures in the link. Check it out.

Matt, I once saw (about 25-30 years ago) a split windshield model military type vehicle in a collection at Larsen Ford, on rt 88 in lakewood. It's the only one I ever saw. I assumed it was some kind of military prototype.

Terry, The one I was looking at was sold last night on ebay. It sold for 5,450.00 just for the cab. Too rich for my wallet . It also had a dished out drivers door to allow clearance for spare tire. I'm not sure that's factory either.
Matt.
