there seems to be an awful lot people on this site with alot of knowledge and good input. this is my second post but i wanted to say thanks for the help i got on my first question ,so thanks! now on to the next one. i'm restoring a 58 custom 300. it is a basket case! several people told me i was nuts to even try to save it. now im about half way thru and it is looking pretty good and most everybody has gotten off my back about. but every panel on this thing needed something done to it including the radiator support. it its rotted prett badly and twisted and i'm not even sure if i have a complete one. does the hood hinges bolt to it? is there a reproduction one available? and most important does anyone have any pictures of what this thing looks like, either in the car or on the bench? i got the car in a hundred pieces so i dont even know how it is supposed to look! i'd be grateful for any pictures or input i can get, thanks

Have you had a winter vacation yet? Fly to Pheonix, rent a car and head to Desert Valley Auto Parts. Buy a bunch of stuff and ship it home. That is the only junk yard I ever visited that had a greeter. Miles of unrusted cars to pick from.

no disrespect to you but i wont waste another minute with desert valley auto parts. i have sent them at least five emails over a 4 week period last fall through their web site and never got any reply at all. i dont know what the deal is with them but i just couldnt get any service from them so i swore i was done with them

Hopefully this makes it easier.

The bonnet hinge mounting bracket bolts to the support panel.

here's two pictures of the radiator support , also sending pictures of the hinges, and the battery box which are usually rusted as well all have surface rust but no rust through and you have to get your own mounting clips. I have lots of 58 custom 300 parts as my 58 ranchero is a custom, and i accumalted for several years lot of small items. Also have complete set of trim w/ fuel door and gold trim. AS live in Idaho and shipping would be costly but just let you know some of what's available later Laroy and If interested in anything email me direct at -- [email protected]

rick, laroy, thanks guys! that is a big help. what im confused on now is where do those hinges bolt on(i have a good set of hinges) and what do the fenders bolt to? unfortunately the fenders were in the trunk when i got it and everything else was gone except the very ROTTEN radiator support.

that is awesome rick thanks!!! that part of the inner fender well is rotten on my car. i guess i need to do some more parts searching. and you must have the coolest library down there if you have illustrations like that just hanging around!!! lol

No I just have the parts catalogue on my iPad as a PDF file. Makes it easy to find most things on 49-59 Fords. I believe a member of this forum sells the same as I have on disc. I got my copy years ago from a member of yblocksforever as a free download. It was also included with my manuals on disc from Detroit Iron.
However you get it it is a great resource.
Of course it is real handy being on a device such as an iPad which allows me to have it close at hand. Ain't technology grand?

Rob, we all started off at the same place. I used to wear people out with all my questions as a young feller. Back in those days there was no such thing as home computers or the Internet. I am sure that most of us here don't mind passing on tips and tricks we have picked up over the years.
