Default brake woes!

i have a 58 ford custom 300. i have put the body on a 1990 crown victoria chassis and shoved in a 406. my problem now is that i cant fit a power booster in because the valve cover is in the way. i tried an 8" booster from a ford ranger but its to big. does anyone know of any thing that uses a booster thats smaller than 7"?

A big block Torino used a bracket that raised the booster about six inches. They were very hard to find, now avaiable in the Speedway catalogue for just under fifty bucks.

thanks for the tip but i also dont have any more room above where it mounts to the fire wall because its so close to the hood now. ive tried just about everything i can think of and nothing works out except a smaller booster or no power brakes!

What about a Hydro Boost unit? I know they are smaller than most vacumn boosters. Maybe you don't have a power steering pump to run a hydro boost. Just a thought.

I've seen threads about remote boosters, also electric powered. Didn't pay to much attention to the topic, I run the boosted dual hydraulics.

Take a look at the early Bronco power brake setup. It angles to the left to clear the valve cover.

Your Welcome. I just thought that a Hydro Boost unit is smaller than a regular booster. I had a hydro boost on an Astro van, and it worked well. Hope you get it worked out.
