I have a 29 Pickup roadster that has no rear bumper. It shows in the salesman's sales book that a rear bumper was available as an accesory for 8 dollars. I have always been told that pickups never had rear bumpers. If they did where might they be available from to allow for turn signals ? Thanks wayne

My 29 does not have one but I would be interested to know if they were available for them.

While rear bumpers were not "original", mine has one on it now. (Avitar was taken BB)
Do a search, there are several threads on the subject that I read up on before installing mine. |

On the web site "Rare Model A accesories " there is one section devoted to pickup trucks and that is where I saw it.

"The booklet once belonged to Mr. Emmett Francois of New Jersey, who shares this rare piece of Model A literature with us. Although the book is geared towards truck buyers, many of the accessories shown are the same ones used for cars." from Bruce Wheeler's "Friends of the Model A Web Site" Model A pickups did not come with rear bumpers, nor were they a factory or dealer option to my knowledge. Some people have rigged up rear bumpers using car bumper mounts on their pickups. I am considering doing the same for mine when I get that far. Jon Last edited by JBR; 02-17-2012 at 09:46 AM. Do they stick out enough to protect your tailgate in a rear end bump?

I got some bar stock the matching width/thickness for the cut off rear bumper mount I had from a box of junk. I promptly welded up a bracket and used a cross member I had for my e28 open cab pickup. I didn't need to drill a hole in the frame either. I added a few stoplights as well.
