Default 40 Pick Up Interior Panel Set

Starting to install an interior panel set from Mac's Auto for my 40 pick-up. Any tips on what to do or not do??

be careful where the panel folds around the back of the cab, pretty easy to crease. I suppose you are installing the 40-41 interior panel kit-the one that does not cover the roof??

It's got the headliner (cardboard) panel too.

Ditto on Alan's comment. I had to trim about 3/16" from the front edge of the headliner to get the right fit at the back of the cab. Other than that it all fit up nicely. It's been in for about 4 years now. It still looks good. Just take your time and be careful with the back corners.

if you are using the 42-47 full headliner panel be aware that there was a metal tab that supported the center of this panel, it used a screw with washer to hpld it up.

Just installed Mac's kit in my '40 PU.
I had to glue a block of wood in the center of the roof to screw the cardboard headliner to.
Glued with JB Weld.

Interesting. I didn't have a metal tab nor did I glue a block. It fit tight enough so there is no sag. I am thinking of installing a dome light so I may need to glue a block to fasten it to.

Update. All went well with the install. Not too sure about the instructions that came with the kit. Juist started with the windlace and other trim pieces around the front of hte door. Start with putting the front of the headliner into the headboard area and then lifted the rear into the rubber seal of the rear glass. Make sure you're centered, not much of a chance of sliding around. I had to trim a little over the drivers door (maybe 3/16 for about 3"). The rear corner pieces were the easiest being mindfull of too much roll and not to crease. Be sure to count and divide hardware into two equal halfs and all should be ok. Oh, by the way it's a two person job!! Overall not a bad kit. Thanks for the replies.

Dome light on 36 Deluxe pickup went in the center of the head liner.
