I do it like Mr Tube and Brent. I take out 20 or so a year and have only seen one that wouldn't come out this way. It was welded in and the welds were covered with sludge so I couldn't see the welds. I ground them off, straightened the pan sides and reinstalled it after cleaning, worked fine.
