Last night away tonight,at clermont,
easy drive today,only a couple hundred ks, a short stretch on the highway,and the rest on a lovely back road ,only puting along at 35mph,some roadworks,we culd slow down to 15mph and pull away in top gear easy as.
We had slowed for some cattle,and they just carried on as normal,feeding the calf no worries,
A caravan passed us and a short time later we see them stopped and walking into a small creek with a shovel and pan,
later we talked to them,panning for gold,got nothing.
4055 miles and the engine still starts with one push of the pedal,6v, stock ford distributor and points. good stuff.
I checked all the wheel nuts as there was a small squeak from the front,but turned out to be the rear bonnet latch,no drama.
We are off to the pub fo dinner again tonight, as we are back to Cheryls home tomorrow.

later start today as only 250 or so klms t mackay.
The model Ts were at the same servo this morning, but an hour before,so we never saw them as they were heading to Charters towers and us to mackay.
The drive to mackay was through the heart of the coal mining area,this is sure large scale operations.
I don't know how we are supposed to wean off this stuff, we sure have plenty, and the best quality.
Back in Mackay now, 4235 miles todate,another 280 to get back home for me on wednesday
the 34 has used no oil the gearbox or rear axle,probably a couple litres in the engine
It's currently in the carport with maybe a couple drops under the engine.
But ,it sure needs a wash.
I have spent 1/2 hr picking the butterfly and hoppers from the radiator

The 34 got a nice wash this afternoon, and a grease on the front end and rear wheel bearings.
I feel better now
I will head for home tomorrow morning and a 450 klm drive on the Bruce Hwy,anyone from Queensland will know what that entails, lots of rough road and big trucks, the trucks are fine, they are travelling at 100 kph, about 10 klm more than me,and I can easily go 100if needed.
If you're on the Bruce tomorrow south of Mackay, keep an eye out for me, I'm in the old black ford. Not many old black fords on the hyway.

Hi Lawrie, I have been following you along and have enjoyed your adventures. Those 1934 Fords are just the best and must have been a wonderful motor car back in their time thats for sure. I did think you should have fitted a bug screen onto your grille. They save a lot of time cleaning your radiator and are quick and easy to take off and put on. Regards, Kevin.

The 34 is back in its shed, after 4508 miles,(7326 klm).
It has about 4 drops of oil under it, not too bad.
1064 litre fuel at average 2.14 per litre , one oil and filter change, two greases.
A couple of washes,
All in all, a very enjoyable trip away,
A few things to take from the trip, make sure the spare tyre and wheel are in. first class condition, as when I had to use it , the rim got a crack and the tyre was just about worn out, make up and take a service kit , with grease guns ,one for chassis and one for the u/joint, engine oil and filter, with removal tool.
When travelling off the main roads in an old car you sure attract plenty of attention.
We think nothing of it, we are just traveling along enjoying ourselves and the drive,but obviously its not something you see everyday,a 92 yr old ford burning along sweet as.
The 34 will get a full service tomorrow ,a vacuum out ,not a polish as thats something only my daughter inlaw Kirra does.
She did the pin stripping on it.

My citrus trees are loaded as no one has picked them, the mandarins sure are nice, and my lawn needs some water.

GB, not a problem,
You would be pleasantly surprised how reliable these old fords are, specially if you keep them Stock, on this trip the engine never even missed one beat, would start first push of the started hot or cold ,and it was cold down there,( snowed too days after we left.)
The are like a Time Machine.
