Trying to find out the function of the top left-hand push-pull switch on the 36 dash. If someone can enlighten me, I would be most thankful.

Dash Lights, ON when pushed in, OFF when pulled out

If memory serves me correctly, in order for the dash lights to come on it's necessary to
either put the parking lights or headlights on by manipulating the center switch on the
steering wheel.
