Sounds like an adventure to me. Don't forget your crescent wrench and baling wire! Never know when you might have to adjust the "sparkolators or the fuel-make-it-happeners". Ha ha

Safe at Home! Quite the ride down interstate 5 on Friday. 65 was no problem with 3.70 gears and 33" tires. Driving in the middle lane with a semi on each side at 65 was somewhat unnerving. Got a liftime supply of thumbs up for sure. Arrived in Ballard for lunch with one daughter, then headed across the bridge to West Seattle where I'd be staying with other daughter. On Saturday, Gramps excused himself for an hour and went over to Alki Beach where car guys have been 'cruising Alki' for generations. It was like a 2 mile parade with anything from New Porsches, to rat rod model A's, to low riding Impalas and jacked up Hummers, but I had the only Foyota. Was over 80 degrees driving home yesterday and I decided I'm gonna need a door in the center of the firewall to block the heat, though it's great in the evenings and in the Fall. Climbing a long grade on the interstate I got a vision of blowing a coolant hose at 185 degrees and being doused with scalding coolant. Had to banish that thought. On the way home I went to a 'cars and coffee' in Edmonds. About 100 cars, primarily gleaming muscle cars, but a few things that appealed to me. Not a lot of interest in my junker. Few stopped to ask or talk. On the way home I bypassed the interstate and took a ferry to the S. End of Whidbey Island and drove my Northward miles in the country, albeit 55 mph, crossing Deception Pass bridge and coming out in Anacortes where we catch the ferry home to Orcas. That gray 2 story house with the brick chimney was my childhood home and the picture with the space needle is Alki Beach.

Thanks Guys! I'd like to mention that my new gas pedal was a vast improvement over the top hinged 'spoon' type pedal which was original to the land cruiser. So much so that I'm pretty sure I wil make the same modification to Henry's spoon pedal on the woodie. Also, this morning I found a Square D electrical panel cover that has a hinged door in the center. This I will mount to the cutout in the firewall and when I need heat, I'll just unlatch the door. The transmission tunnel will be a bit more of a project.

Yep, that transmission tunnel will test your metal-shaping skills to be sure! But that's what these projects are all about.

No, I can't take credit for that. I have 4 old rigs and two of these ,so I'm always switching them up. Time for another order.

And Sidevalve, I think I've started on it twice, and stalled out.....

Expect to see one just like it in the woodie, with the spoon intact of course. Whenever I see that hinge pattern in a junk store I buy them. Seems the very early VW bug had a single roller skate wheel on a fork for it's go fasterizer pedal. Didn't seem to do much when going uphill though.
