Default Alternator

Can anyone shed light on where I can purchase an alternator bracket kit for my 292 Y-block engine & what alternator to use.
Thank you for your time in advance

These guys:

Not cheap but I've used them for GM alternators and brackets for several 8ba flatheads as well as a 3g alternator for the 302 in my Ranch Wagon.

But not positive this one will work on a Y block or not. Best to give them a call.

The generator/alternator in a T-Bird sits lower and closer to the engine than in other Y-block powered vehicles.
Their brackets won't be interchangeable.

Perhaps something to consider - a possible alternative is a PowerGen alternator, I had one installed on my '56 about 15-20 years ago. Looks like the generator & used the original brackets. Costly but can't remember what I paid for it back then.

Check out the one at CASCO . I have that one on my '56 T Bird and it's worked very well for me. As noted above, not cheap....$289...easy to bolt on and wire up.
