TJ, well said. I run one of Gadgiteer Bob Shewman's flex fuel lines on my Ford, I didn't feel it was highly priced, compared to the Vintage Ford repro shops. It is very well made and worth every penny. Don't be a skin flint all your life. You can't take it with you and your wife's going to spend it all after your gone anyways.

So, G.M., what do your tests show. How long does Gagiteer's check valve hold the pressure compared to a properly working stock fuel pump on its own?

I only left the gauge on 4 or 5 hours and was still holding pressure. After a week or 2 the cars I have with them on start right up. You like research. look up Fords test and the results. G.M.

Lawson I just talked to gadgiteer a few minutes ago and told him what you said. He said he ordered some 9/16" round brass this morning and it went up over $40.00 a bar. I guess he eat's that cone. G.M.

Sorry. I couldn't find the test results you're talking about. How 'bout you posting them or at least the link to them if you think it would be helpful? It always adds credibility to an opinion to have it backed up by research/testing.

I did test my stock pump and it was within the specs you said it should be.

I never go more than a day or two without driving and have a secondary check valve in my electric pump so never have a problem starting.

Went to my local NAPA store last weekend, for some 5/16" ethanol safe flex fuel line.
( before some one gets a weggie saying cars don't use 5/16" gas lines) It was for a little elec transfer pump I use from time to time.
Well any how was told they had a recall on the line and would not be back in stock for a few
I did not ask if that was the only size that was recalled or not.

The test in the Ford service bulletins is CPR 9350 A. This is on the input side of the pump. I use the output side with a gauge in the line between the pump and carb. I also used a shut off valve between the gauge and carb. I run the engine, shut the valve off and then turn the engine off. This eliminates the carb float as the leak and only the pump valve and diaphram is being tested. The Ford test says if it holds vacume, in may case pressure for ONE MINUTE before leaking to zero the pump is GOOD??? I question just how good this is?? With gadgiteers flex hose with the built in check valve it holds pressure for hours not one minute. G.M.
