I would not even consider old JE or Jahns pistons. They are heavy and use old school cast rings. Go with Ross and get them with Metric rings

If someone wants a 3 7/8 stroke crank I have one in central Texas. I don't have any plans for it, and would let it go very reasonably if you convinced me you would use it in an engine. PM me if interested.

I found many 3.75 std size cranks here in Sweden ( cheap ) as no one need them and I has a Berco RTM 225 crankgrinder.
I like the idea with a 1/8 baby stroke and the 2" rods and std 3.75 C-H pistons ( just for historic ideas how it could been done ) but Tim, I will go Ross ofcourse. But in the Weiand/stock heads engine I could go Jahns if I found them, as it will be more just a good look shop office engine. My focus is on the race engine Merc 41 block set-up. |

Might so be ofcourse but it's also a feeling.
This motor is more a mock-up cool thing in shop, something to look and enjoy parts from back then and how they made it. Ex in a case one could see a FH but they like electronic injection, drysymp, beltdrive etc and no one see it under hood. One could then install a LS6 but for some reson anyway like a FH. What I'mean is there is feelings involved. I come from NHRA stock racing, there is all about what parts or tech inside a engine. Outside you see the carb more or less, so that lifestyle is all about legal parts and tech. Guess I see the hotrodding that way to ? Anyways, it's no rules here just ideas, but I just love hear history on parts and how it was done. |
