Difference between car and pickup crossmember?

I think it dipped down when a 4-cyl was installed?

Anyway I have a 36 car chassis under my 40-41 pickup and had no front crossmember issues. However one thing to know is that the tail end of your chassis narrows vs later chassis's. Most everything else is there where you need it to be.
