Default Autolite, Cardone, & Brake Parts are being shut down

I have not seen discussion of the pending shut down of Autolite, Cardone, and Brake Parts units of First Brands Group which is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Is anyone going to miss these brands?

I've used Autolite spark plugs and several components that were made or remanufactured by Cardone. It may make things even more expensive in the future.

What say you?

I hope this isn't a signal that the making of old car parts is fast fading away.

I sure hope not. I've bought several Cardone brake parts and the quality has been excellent.

A friend sent me the full "financial" report on this and ALL the repercussions of it two months ago, it is not good......not only for our "antique" cars but this will effect slightly older modern cars/trucks as well up into the 2000's

Hopefully the individual producing companies will be sold off and survive after the bankruptcy of the parent company.

Wow. Just can’t post this.
Rest assured. It’s bad.
One of my best friends worked for First Brands up to about 4-5 months ago in sales.

Chapter 11 - Bankruptcy Basics

Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code generally provides for reorganization, usually involving a corporation or partnership. A Chapter 11 debtor usually proposes a plan of reorganization to keep its business alive and pay creditors over time. People in business or individuals also can seek relief in Chapter 11.

Chapter 11 reorganization provides many benefits for troubled companies, including much-needed relief from unsustainable debt levels, the ability to unravel burdensome contracts, and breathing room to develop a plan.
Once a debtor and its creditors reach agreement on a plan to reorganize, the business receives a fresh start with a new balance sheet that is aligned with current operational realities.

Throughout a Chapter 11 reorganization, a debtor continues to operate in the ordinary course of business. Any activities outside of the ordinary course of business, such as selling the entire company or raising postpetition financing, require Bankruptcy Court approval.

It's Chapter 7 Bankruptcy that's final - Total liquidation of assets - which signals a company's demise...

I went to our local NAPA store. I use the Autolite 216 plugs and they only had 5 in stock. She said she could get more. Tomorrow I'll have two sets or find out they can't get them anymore....

Criminals that should be locked up for a long time. Problem is the retailers will take the hit for these crooks.
