Default 1939 Ford V8 Coupe Sedan

1939 Ford V8 Coupe Sedan
We refer to this rare car as a 1939 Ford Standard Sloper.
However, the Sales Brochure calls it a Ford V8 Coupe Sedan
Notice that the Sales Brochure doesn't mention "Standard"?

Slopers are so cool. Wish we would have had them in the US.

In the USA, it was not until 1940 that Ford no longer used the term "standard". It was thought to make that model sound "cheap". Instead, it was then (in 1940) referred to the Ford V8 model.
Dealers were strongly advised to no longer use the term "standard".

Probably why then Deluxe and Super Deluxe. Wasn't there a special in USA for 41 too? Obviously this they intended to show this to be a "cheap" model.

I will be the odd man out. I think they look squished, short and out of proportion. I'm of fan of the GM fleetline or sedanette body style and comparing that sloping roof line to this one leaves me cold on the Ford from the cowl back.

I'm also a fan of the Fleetline Chevy and the Sedanette body styles. It never occured to me that Ford might be mimicing that sort of roof line on the sloper Sedan Coupe until today. It kind of sheds a different light on the subject for me. Maybe I'll learn to like the sloper a little better now.
