Are you referring to "Gaunlets"?

Weren’t those more prevalent in the horseless carriage and Model T era in 1910’s and early 20’s? I haven’t seen any pictures of Model A drivers wearing those.

If you get mad at someone you can throw the gauntlet down.

Haha, Good one! I wonder how many thought about what that saying actually meant?

In cold weather, I have used brown Jersey gloves for driving a long time.

They were a "go to" glove when I was a kid in the 1960's. Don't know how popular these were in the Model A era. The disadvantage of the Jersey glove is it is not waterproof. For driving, not an issue. Advantages is they are cheap and available most anywhere.

If one wants to "impress" I suppose a pair of gauntlet type mentioned in the above posts would be the gloves of choice.

Now if you really want to impress your fellow Model A drivers, here are some gauntlets in the style of medieval knights. They were the first to wear gauntlets. Some metal sculpture artist really worked out to make these. I don't know who.

Fitz, my original gloves have a "Grinnell Make" trademark on the wrist button if that helps any.
