Hmmm... ya got me thinking.
Passenger cars in Washington and Pennsylvania were required by the state to have two tail lamps. I should have been more specific in my earlier post.
Trucks? Commercial vehicles? That I do not know.
These two trucks you refer to; did YOU buy these new, so you know firsthand this was how they were sold?
Buying a truck that (example) is thirty years old, well, lots could have been changed.

Kube, one was purchased by my grandfather, which I got in 1966 with 30K on odometer. The other was purchased by a grocery delivery store, last licensed in 1966.

hear is a photo of my left side tail light, i got the bracket from Sacramento vintage ford years ago, i got more photos, i will post them

the bracket on the driver side is orignal, it was riveted on, but i driled out the rivits becouse the brackit was loose. both brackes are the same
