Hello - I recently purchased a 1934 Ford Cabriolet as an unfinished project. I am hoping to get some guidance on the proper seat, including whether it is the same as any other model. I am also trying to find out how to determine whether top irons are for a roadster or cabriolet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tony

The seat is unique to the cabriolet, similar to the coupe seat except slightly lower and with a higher arch to the top of the backrest. Post photos of the top irons you have and we will identify them for you.

age - get 4 more posts and I think you can post some pictures. Pictures will help folks understand what you are dealing with.

The whole seat frame in my 5 window is made from scratch entirely of wood. It has the factory springs and upholstery and if I didn't tell you you would never know to look at it. The metal frames I have seen available are in very rough condition and nowhere near me.

Also, some seats have upholstery on the back sides (like the front of a 2 or 4-door seat) and others probably do not have upholstery on the back. I know on my 32 cabriolet, the seat has quite a few differences as compared to a STD roadster seat. |

Thank you to everyone who has provided a response! The car did not come with top irons, but I did find a set online. The sellers are not sure whether they are for a roadster or cabriolet. I am attempting to upload a picture. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

aje: Go to Petehoovie's post above your last post, click on his name. That should allow you to email your pictures to him and he would most likely be happy to post LARGE SIZE images here.

Still trying to upload the photo – thank you. I tried sending the private email, but I need to reach a total of 20 posts before I am able to do so.

I tried sending a link to the top irons, but I need a total of 10 posts before being able to do so. Looks like I will now be one shy. Thanks

Those are ROADSTER top irons, and not compatible with a cabriolet.
