A contact sent me this photo of a Ford Car Radio, and asked if I knew what model and year it came from. Can anyone help identify this Ford Car Radio? Thanks for your help.

I am guessing 50's by the buttons as they look like my 57 buttons. As for the stations not a clue.

It's very curious how the indicator is made. Most of them show the frequency of amplitude modulation if it is AM only AM/FM types indicate the higher frequency on one plane and the lower frequency on the other. I don't know what that one is indicating. I assume that they are for specific national radio stations in the AM and possibly in the FM ranges. This was never common in the mid 60s or later.

I remember back when they had the CONELRAD markings at 640kHz and 1240kHz for civil defense notifications in the event of a nuclear strike. That stuff ended in 1964.

If there is a model or part number on it, we can likely find out what it's from.

64 Ford Galaxie or Fairlane by the face plate, but the frequency/band info sure isn't American. What is used down under?

It's likely made for the Australian market. It's probably much newer than a person might think The part number has a GE prefix but a Ford type number. I'm not well versed enough to guess what model of Australian Ford it might have been fitted to. If the other numbers are date codes then it may give an indication. The Australian folks would know more about this stuff than most of the US folks would.
