I searched for reviews, didn't find any but found that ScamAdvisor.com has this: mechuno.com might be a scam. We found several indicators for this.

I was looking at their Atlas lifts. I have been using their products for years, and I am pleased with the product.
BUT, I do not want to be scammed. I spoke with someone at Mechuno at 332 291 2055, but who knows. |

My son has an Atlas in his restoration shop and has worked well for the past 6 years. We bought through a local dealer who installed it. I would recommend using this route which might be a little more expensive but you have some recourse if there are problems. This is an item where quality and safety must go hand in hand.

Before I retired, I added onto my garage, and I installed a Mohawk 10,000 lb. twin post lift. It might be larger than 10K, I've had stroke? Just the hoist alone was over $10,000.00 (not installed). It required a 12" thick slab with rebar. I was a phone company mechanic, and we had inground twin post lifts up to 36,000 lbs. but we had one Mohawk above ground twin post hoist. I was so impressed with it I bought one, but it was stupid expensive. It's made to last forever. The uprights are made from 1/4" inch steel forklift masts. Every part of it is made in the USA. I can lift small cars up to dually pickups on it. I can lift by the frame, but I also bought the adaptors to be able to lift by the tires in case I don't want to scratch up the frame.
One year they replaced one of the inground hoists at work that was over 30-years old. I took the front rack head with its 4X4 adapters home. I made a tool to slide rearends in and out from under cars. I can lift the vehicle on the rack and then roll the front or rearend right out from under it. Iv'e had back surgery so no more lifting heavy stuff. Last edited by Flathead Fever; 10-11-2025 at 02:59 AM. |

Any lift in my shop (garage) would push the car through the ceiling. If I have to work under the car I use good quality jack stands.

Flathead, before I read your text I spotted your Weaver yoke from an in ground two post lift.I served lots of time under one of those.I bought a Challenger 7000 pound lift about 25 years ago.I really didn't work on cars, but wanted one for my own use.Truck and equipment parts got heavier,so I did start doing some car stuff. Some of the local garages really don't like to do rear ends, subframes and such. That was light work to me,so I did quite a lot of it.I kind of fell into the Challenger, but the reason I bought it was that the local junkyard had one,and they had a guy that could destroy an anvil with a rubber mallet. That lift held up under him,so I bought one just like it.

In answer to the poster's question, it sounds like nobody has real experience with this company. Looks like a seller/drop shipper who deals with many companies. Could be a good thing but I'd look at shipping charges before ordering and pay with a credit card so there is recourse if it goes wrong. Very good pricing for sure!

If you are interested in an Atlas lift, I would contact Atlas direct and make sure they actually do business with this company.

Follow up:
Atlas told me that Mech UNO is definitely a scammer. She said that no way could anyone sell Atlas at those prices, never mind offer free shipping and install at $150. |

I Agree With Brent,
I opted for a known brand (BendPak) when I bought a 2 post 10,000lb lift. While I have never been someone who worries about anything, as I get older I sometimes think about "worst case scenario" while working under one of my trucks that I use for transporting. I bought a 7000# Rotary lift from an acquaintance who was upgrading his shop. I called several lift dealers for installation, but could never get a reliable return call. I found the installation instructions, and had the concrete floor poured to those specs, and installed it myself. Awfully heavy, but I have a FEL for assistance. Flathead mentioned adapters for lifting by the tires. Sounds like a useful feature. What is the correct name and source?
