You gave him your money. There are good ways to pay where you cannot get ripped off. Regular PayPal is one very good one. PayPal will get your $ back but also most all scammers won’t accept regular PayPal a sure sign they are a scammer.

While this reply is cold and mean, it is so true to the real world of scammers and naive buyers. They’ll gladly sell you a Brooklyn bridge if you’re gullible enough to buy it. The term “Caveat emptor” turns the tables on responsible transactions, putting the onus on the buyer to qualify the seller. Scammers get all righteous in their attitude about the stupidity of the American consumer, and they prove their point with every dollar they cheat us out of.
We are all vulnerable to the cheats, no matter how aware we are that they walk among us. I very recently almost bit on a scam, catching on just in time, but still requiring me to change my phone number and a few passwords for safety.

As a side point:
Fake or forged US Postal Money Orders are also being used by scammers. https://www.mybanktracker.com/news/h...t-money-orders |

Just sayin', My approach to wanted parts is to just keep searching,,, looking until the piece appears. But it has to be East of the Mississippi, as I like to drive and I want to shake on the deal.
No mistakes

If it takes more than two communiques with someone, they’re usually a scammer. They beat around the bush and send 15 to 20 messages and never get the deal done. Poor use of grammar is another key.

He has been banned. But that doesn't mean he won't find a way to create another account. Always research the user if it's someone you don't know or see post often in the tech sections.

If you sent him a check be sure to contact your bank. You may have to get a new account and cancel the old one. These scum bags devise ways to tap into your account or your credit card.

Along a similar path: I'm so tired of getting RoBo calls on my home phone every day; anywhere from 4 to 8 consistently. I let them go to "voice" and delete daily. I know, It's not a big deal but I feel there are scammers lurking and being cautious is the order of the day.
BTW: I have tried several methods to stop this but to no avail. |

In my IPhone settings, I turn ON the “silence unknown callers.” Later in the day I block those calls and delete them from my “recent activity.”

I had the same thing happen. He responded to my wanted ad and after a couple back and forth emails it was clear it was a scam. If you look at his first 10 posts it was an account created to just be able to message other members. The domain also came back as a bogus web site.
