Guys,
Thanks! John that is a good picture of Ruber in the 42's cab!
A couple shots of the 32 at the local Albion fair last week. Daughter Kelly and her boyfriend Owen driving the 32 in the parade.

I moved the 32 from the big shop to the house garage as a trial. Frees up some space in the shop.

Also moved the CA tractor out to the small shop. I had a good time pulling it and we won second place.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Guys,
The 32 has been moved to the house garage so we can work on a large project in the shop. Building new sliding doors between the two portions of the shop.

We have a new pup. He is a Golden Retriever about 6 months old. His name is Duke. He has me in training with invisible fencing.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Hey Chris and Cheryl . . . thanks for the update - always fun to hear from you. Every time I see your truck it makes me smile a bit - knowing that your headlights came from a swap with me. Have a very Merry Christmas (we still say that in these parts!).

Chris,

Firstly, Merry Christmas.

Next, how does your dump bed go up? A friend used to have a TT dump truck and the bed raising was accomplished with a hand operated winch. That is, you turn a crank which through some gear reductions lifted the front of the bed; I think I remember that it was with a chain.

Did Ford go to hydraulics by '32?

It's a slam dunk that you'll never drive the dump truck this far but if you ever road trip west in your Comet give us a shout and drop in for a visit.

Mike,
Merry Christmas!
The 32 bed is raised by hydraulics. The bed was made by Gallion (sp?) A PTO pump, driven off the right side of the transmission, provides the oil to a large cylinder raising the bed. The bed was with the truck when it left the factory. But when the 32 was decommissioned in 1951 or 52. The bed was removed and placed on a late Forty's Ford truck. When that truck was finished the bed was returned and set on to the 32 chassis again. That's how it was when I found it. The previous owner used two fresh 1/2 inch bolts to secure the bed to the truck frame for me. He was afraid I might loose it on the way home. Those two bolts and two new 1/4-20 bolts in the license plate he added for me are the only 4 fasteners that were added or touched on the truck for 70 years!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ford folks,
Heading into a new year we do have winter in Albion. Duke has fun playing in the snow.

Happy New Year! We hope to get some additional drive time with the 32 truck this year. A 94 year old machine that is still pretty spry!

Hope things are good in Ford Land!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Hi Chris,

A late Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours! Our son in New York sent us similar pictures from their Brewster NY house. He had to dig out from 7 inches of snow to drive to the airport on Saturday. It's always good to hear of your garage and old iron adventures.

Al and Mary, Ford Folks,
The snow can be gone anytime now. Cheryl and I are not going to make maple syrup this spring. She has been helping me make syrup and value added maple products for 24 years. She just cant help as she did so we are going to take this season off. I may go to some friends sugarhouse to get my maple fix

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris, I hope Cheryl feels better as the sun warms things up!……I don’t mind the snow, we haven’t had a lot this year…..but when the thermometer doesn’t even get to 20* by midday….. I’m really looking forward to Spring this year…..at least Duke can enjoy it!!……Mark

Ford Folks,
Thanks guys for good thoughts for Cheryl. Our lives have changed since Cheryl was diagnosed with dementia three years ago. We enjoy our time together very much. The Old 32 Ford truck and the 65 Comet provided many good experiences that we have shared with friends in the car clubs and at many car shows.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl
