Default Re: 1936 Pickup Bed Questions

Timstruck I am working on a 1937 Ford pickup which has a little longer bed but the same setup. No floor came with the bed so I am putting wood and strips in it like a Chevrolet. Your bed should have four crossmembers-one at the front which goes down the the frame and is tall. The two center ones are similar but different and the rear is u shaped and meant to tie the back of the box together. The subframe on mine has holes to attach the sides to it two places on each side and on the front of the rear crossmember. I suspect it is an aftermarket bed as I have an original 35-36 bed which looks different. The front three crossmembers bolt to the frame but the rear one hangs off the back of the frame. Two milled wooden blocks sit on the rear crossmember and are bolted through the original metal an wood down to the crossmember. A long flathead bolt is used to attach to the frame. I am using a washer with a carriage bolt to do the same thing since I don't have the metal floor( it had a flanged hole stamped in it for the bolt head which I don't have.) If you can post some pictures of what you have it might help with other advise.
