Default Re: What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

Went to a clearance auction yesterday,
Was going to bid on a supposed NOS ww2 engine,
Turned out to be a dud, welded up bell housing and rusty bare block.
But , there was a pile of rusty stuff that used to be a 32 phaeton, completely rusted out chassis and four pallets supposed 32 bits, but none useable I thought.
it sold for $10K.
a Range Rover complete minus just the radiator $40.
a complete and going landcover $120
an 8ba bare block, no main caps and bores as rusty as,I was interested but it went for $30, higher than my limit of 25.
But a good entertaining day out in the model A pickup.
