I’m very sad to hear this news. Hope he crosses the River Jordan peacefully.

I wish I could’ve met the man personally but at the same time I feel fortunate to have been able to learn from him. I loved his style.

This reminds me of when we lost Bruce Lancaster. These guys leave a big hole when they leave.

I'm very sad to hear this. Ron has been a fixture here since the Shelly days. He has provided so much input and advice over the years. He will always be remembered to us flathead guys and he helped to make us aware of the Litero/Kiwi L-100 cam.

As Ron use to say in the old days, keep 'em runnin'. God speed, Ol Ron.

First time I met Ron was in the mid 90's when I was vending at the York NSRA show. He came by the booth was very nice, made a few comments about my T5 kit and 409 pump kit and moved on. I made it a point every year after that to stop by his space for a short conversation, he always remembered me. He was so full of information and his innovative ideas into Flatheads was interesting. I was never sure what he thought of what I was doing. Hope he will hang on for a while. He'll be missed.

Ron has always been a shining light here. An old school mechanic that really knows his stuff and always happy to help others. His smiling face avatar when he chimes in is priceless. God Speed Ron!

This is very sad news indeed. Visited him with another Barn member about 8 years ir so ago. He was so happy to be playing with flatheads every day. He lived in a tiny A-frame house but his garage and all of the things he was working were his life. He will be missed by all who knew him and even those who just knew of him. Gods speed ….

So sad, all the old timers leave and with them goes so much knowledge. Ol Ron is at the top of this sad circumstance. I only hope he goes easy.

Very sad news. I still enjoy reading his book, and run an L-100 in one of my flatheads because of his many writings on the subject. Would have enjoyed meeting him, and will miss his valuable contributions to the Barn.

Godspeed Ron. Thank you for sharing your vast experience, knowledge, wit and unassuming personality. Your posts here on the Barn will continue to teach and inspire others long after your physical presence.

I live in CT. Moore than once I drove to VT picked up Ron and drove us up to Maine, got a couple hotel rooms and spent the weekend with Walt Dupont and his friends. Moore than once Ron and I said to each other how much we enjoyed those memories. I will always be grateful for the time we had together, Craig.

I went and saw Ron last October. So glad I did. He was a huge inspiration for me building my AV8 coupe.
