GB I think that is a colorised image. It might not be a factory colour, just s guess by the person manipulating the image.
That said, could be wrong.

Looks like my '40 Tudor going down the line but I doubt it. When we did the restoration on my car we wanted a lighter color other than gray, so we opted for "Sahara Tan" which was a 1940 Mercury color. According to information I had at the time, that color was not available for the Fords for 1940. Maybe someone here has more accurate information.

Mart, you are correct. That is a poorly colorized photo. A "giveaway" of sorts, is the grille sheet metal was not colorized. My guess and only a guess, is that car was in reality Folkstone Gray.
