Howdy boys, when I test the resistance from post to post on my ignition switch I get 9-10 ohms on Bat to Gauges, and .5 on Bat to Coil. Am I close? Thanks!

Been all day with no response, so I'll shoot my mouth off. 1st, I have no experience with 48's, but probably the same plastic thing with a brass contact on the for the post connections, and a brass contact that slides on that when you wish to turn it on.
They do wear, and get dirty, and are available new. I would check to see if you have a voltage drop between power in and power out, and maybe just replace those parts for peace of mind and reliability. Should be no resistance IMHO. Last edited by cas3; 01-04-2025 at 12:02 AM. |

Spray cleaner into the switch and work back and forth until each leg is less than 0.5 ohm 0.2 or so. use the pointed probes on the ohmmeter and stab them into the screw post ends.
