Had the grease in the transmission checked. It was ok. Knew that was to good to be true.
Thanks for the post on the fingers. Didn't realize things would have to be in a few thousandths. I can see where the fingers could be off. Just wondering back in the day if they changed the pressure plate did they check all that. Going to keep trying. |

Talked to Shoe Box Central again this morning. We were talking I told him that I had up and down slack in the clutch lever arm. I didn't know if I should have any and he said definitely not. Maybe it's the anti rattle spring if that's what holds it in place. It could be engaging the throw out bearing uneven on the fingers.
Shoe Box Central there isn't a setting on the fingers. You just put it on. The arm makes sense. They didn't have any anti rattle springs. He said one for a 65/66 Mustang would work. Anyone know where I can order one. He said I could pull the transmission back and check it without taking out the cross member. Looking for a new spring. Wish I could find a new arm but I imagine that's out of the question. I don't know if the arms just wear out. Wish I could find a video of the throw out bearing being installed. |
